A Hero's Story: A Lecture by Israeli Defense Forces Squad Commander Izzy Ezagui

Izzy will be speaking about his career in the Israeli Defense Forces, and his story of returning to the battlefield after losing an arm in combat. There will be pizza provided for attendees. This event is co-sponsored by Dartmouth Students for Israel, Chabad at Dartmouth, and the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA).

Izzy Ezagui, a decorated squad commander in the IDF, is the only soldier who lost an arm in combat and returned to the battlefield. While he continues to serve in an elite unit in the reserves, Izzy is an active and charismatic public speaker who delivers inspirational talks and events internationally. The Algemeiner chose Izzy as one of 100 people positively influencing Jewish life. He is also a successful fund-raiser helping to raise millions of dollars for hospitals, rehabilitation programs, and other charities, such as the Birthright Foundation. Izzy’s worked with religious and non-Jewish groups, amputee organization, schools, colleges, universities, hedge funds, and corporate events for companies such as Nike, Apple, and EO. He lives in Brooklyn and is a full-time speaker, blogger, and writer.
