Celebrated California-based clarinetist Patricia Shands joins Pinkas on three 20th-century pieces full of plaintive, playful melodies; a restrained, poignant Brahms; a light-filled piece by former Dartmouth faculty member David Evan Jones; and a new work by Cuban-born composer Ileana Perez-Velazquez, whose music The New York Times praises for its “imaginative strength” and “otherworldly quality.”

Brahms Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 120
Perez-Velazquez New Work
And works by Krenek, Raphael, Berg, Jones

Pinkas teaches and performs at Dartmouth while leading a touring and recording career as a solo and chamber musician that takes her from the Boston Pops to the Bulgarian Chamber Orchestra, from Tanglewood to Manila.
