In the Book Arts Workshop, you can learn to make various types of journals and notebooks-some with exposed sewing, others with fold outs, and some that open ultra-flat. Deciding which kind of binding structure you want your book to have will depend on how you approach its content.  What will the content be?  How do you want to use your book?  This special trip to the collections at Rauner Library can help.

Rauner Special Collections has journals, diaries and field guides that range from ship's logs to artists' sketch books and everywhere in between.  Come spend an hour with Rauner's Morgan Swan as he guides us through some of the wide array of ways people have approached the journal as object and container of content.

Registration not necessary.
