Felicity Swayze will read from her recently published personal memoir. In August, 1940, England is at war. Her young father, fearing an imminent German invasion, suddenly decides to send his wife and twin children to safety in America. Their lives change forever. Felicity writes of their desperate wartime odyssey, years filled with uncertainty, constant change, and virtual homelessness. She will discuss the challenges and pleasures of writing in the memoir genre and will touch on the practicalities of publication for a first-time author.

Felicity lives in Tunbridge, Vermont. She is a retired clinical social worker and psychotherapist. She has published professionally. This is her first personal work, which grew out of her participation in an Osher memoir writing class. She lives with her husband, Townsend Swayze, and their three cats. They travel to visit children and grandchildren.

Free and open to the public.
