2. Recognize primary hyperoxaluria in the presence of early symptoms
3. Discuss current and future therapeutic options according to genotype and phenotype of primary hyperoxaluria.
Pierre Cochat is Professor of Pediatrics at University Claude-Bernard, Lyon France. He is head of the Department of Pediatric Nephrology, Rheumatology and Dermatology, and he leads the Reference Center for Rare Renal Diseases as well as the program for Kidney and Combined Liver & Kidney Transplantation in children at University Hospital Femme Mere Enfant (Hospices Civils de Lyon). He is the Dean for Medical Education at University Claude-Bernard, Lyon, and is also currently President of IPNA (International Pediatric Nephrology Association). Dr. Cochat’s main fields of interest are inherited nephrolithiasis and kidney transplantation and has 432 articles in PubMed. He is also strongly involved in medical education in developing countries, with special links with Brazil, Paraguay, Morocco and Haiti.
