David Shapiro T’00 joined Blue Ivy Ventures in August 2016 as its first Managing Partner. Blue Ivy Ventures is a Yale alumni venture firm, raising money from Yale alums to invest in seed, growth, and later stage companies with a Yale connection. Each year, they look to build a portfolio of 15-20 companies, spanning industry, stage and geography. The fund seeks to co-invest alongside of top-tier venture capital and private equity lead investors. Blue Ivy is private, for profit and not officially part of (but friendly with) Yale. Dartmouth and Tuck’s version of this approach is Green D Ventures.
