Simon Keenlyside makes his Met role debut as the unrepentant seducer in Tony Award winner Michael Grandage’s staging of Mozart’s masterpiece. Don Giovanni is juggling three women at once: his latest conquest Donna Anna (Hibla Gerzmava), his old flame Donna Elvira (Malin Byström), and the peasant girl Zerlina (Serena Malfi), whom he plans to seduce on the eve of her wedding. Adam Plachetka plays Giovanni’s sidekick Leporello, with Matthew Rose as Zerlina’s betrothed Masetto, and Rolando Villazón as Anna’s Don Ottavio. Fabio Luisi takes the podium.
