Regional Ethics Bowl

The Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl (IEB) is a team competition that combines the excitement and fun of a competitive debate tournament with practical ethics. Each team receives a set of 15 cases and must prepare an analysis of each case. The cases cover a range of topics including law, medicine, business, public policy, and personal life.  WHEN:  November, 2013

Business Ethics Case Competition

Do you have an interest in debate, ethics, business and argument?  Consider joining the Business Ethics Case Competition team.  This fall's competition team is forming now (Limited space available).  WHEN:  October 24-26, 2013.

Ethics Minor

The Ethics Minor consists of a total of 6 courses: 2 required introductory courses, three other courses forming a coherent “cluster” or focus of interest, and a senior culminating project. For a list of courses, check out our website and click on Institute Programs.

Mediation at Dartmouth (M@D)

M@D works to achieve peaceful compromise between conflicting parties by providing peer mediation services. Our certified student mediators, who have each completed over forty hours of training from the Social Justice Mediation Institute, engage with disputants to make sure that all sides have a chance to share their story. The goal is to uncover the root issues at hand, enabling disputants to come to their own, lasting solution.  WHEN:  Ongoing program   INFO:  (www.mediationatdartmouth.org)

Mock Trial Society

Mock Trial competitions consist of presenting a complete legal case, including opening statements, closing arguments, and three witnesses per side. Witnesses are portrayed by students, who assume the role of their character for the entirety of the trial. Students acting as attorneys are responsible for the representation of their client, and engage in opening statements, direct and cross examination of each witness, and closing arguments.  WHEN: TBD    INFO:  (www.dartmouth.edu/~mtrial/)
