Jointly sponsored by TDI. By invitation only.  Abstract:  New health information technologies (ITs) such as electronic health records (EHRs) have been hailed as key solutions for improving the quality and value of U.S. health care. Yet despite great expectations and investments, the adoption and use of EHRs has been slower than expected, has been met with skepticism and resistance, and has produced mixed results regarding effectiveness and value. This talk will look at some of both the positive findings of health IT in health care and the concerns and negative effects of health IT.
